AUDIO-VISUAL COLLECTION The audio-visual collections include 22,376 catalogued ethnohistoric photographic images (PNs) which can broken out into the following approximate numbers: Athapaskan: 1746 Coast Salish: 2407 Haida: 3300 Interior Salish: 825 Kootenay: 468 Kwakwaka'wakw: 4675 Nuu-chah-nulth: 2310 Nuxalk: 275 Tlingit: 798 Tsimshian: 2764 General 1430 There are also approximately 5,600 images plus 44 binders of 8 X 10 format prints from other institutions for which the RBCM does not hold copyright. There are 3,000 to 4,000 studio quality artifacts photos (CPNs); 14,500 field slides (ESNs) in 35mm format; 4,500 artifact slides in both record and publication standard; ca. 15,000 uncatalogued archaeological site files in 35mm, 2 1/4 sq. & 4 X 5 format; ca. 4,000 35mm slides in the excavated sites files; 2,900 original audio tapes (all have restrictions); 20 videos and 30 films of various lengths with diverse restrictions.
